Celebrate Independence Day in Haines City during Thunder on the Ridge, which is one the City’s signature events. 2021 brings an extra special edition of this event because it’s being held in conjunction with Ribs on the Ridge (July 3). Ribs on the Ridge is one of Central Florida’s largest barbeque festivals and it is sanctioned through the Florida BBQ Association.

Since 1998, residents and visitors have joined Haines City to celebrate this Fourth of July tradition. With the title of Polk County’s largest firework display, Haines City strives to make this a memorable event for the entire family. They will have plenty of cold beer, food, live entertainment, children’s activities, and much more.
The event takes place at Lake Eva Park which has a lot of green space and multiple play areas for kids. While the park as a lot of picnic pavilions throughout, we would suggest that you bring chairs and blankets.
