Florida’s happiest theatre company TheatreWorks Florida is back with a bang, and promises not to disappoint! After a short hiatus, Theatreworks Florida has returned with a series of highly entertaining shows to be held at the Balmoral Event Center in Haines City. The ‘Small But Mighty Musicals’ series will be held between September ’21 and March ’22, where you can attend individual shows or subscribe for the season. Over the series you’ll experience shows featuring everything from 50’s hits, to Disney classics, broadway standards, schmaltzy Christmas favorites, to the celebrated spectacular Ain’t Misbehavin’.
Tickets start at $25, when you buy for just one show, while series tickets are also available for a special price. You can purchase tickets and get full details for shows at the TheatreWorks website, by visiting www.theatreworksfl.org
Shows will be held at the new Balmoral Event Center on Highway 27 at Haines City where you can round-off your theatre-going evening off after each show at the Balmoral Bar and Grill. Or why not get dinner and a show?!

FOREVER PLAID (Sept 17 – 26, 2021) – Presented by Optum Specialty and Infusion Pharmacy
Once upon a time, there were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie) who discovered that they shared a love for music. On the way to their first big gig, the “Plaids” are broadsided by a school bus and killed instantly. It is at the moment when their careers and lives end that the story of Forever Plaid begins… This deliciously funny revue is chock-full of 50s tunes and pitch-perfect melodies!

This unbelievable combination of talent is returning from Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando and from around the country to donate their time to create a stunning show just for you! This spectacular musical revue features 15 musical performances including: Be Our Guest from Beauty & The Beast, Tomorrow from Annie, Take A Chance on Me from Mamma Mia, Supercalifragilistic from Mary Poppins, Let It Go from Frozen and You Can’t Stop the Beat from Hairspray.

Plaid Tidings is a brand new show filled with Christmas standards that have all been “Plaid-erized,” our boys who are back to do their Christmas Special. At first, the boys aren’t sure why they’ve returned to Earth, but a phone call from the heavenly Rosemary Clooney lets them know that they’re needed to put a little harmony into a discordant world. This truly “heaven-sent” holiday treat will lift audiences’ spirits and fill them with nostalgia for a bygone era of classic music!

Ain’t Misbehavin’ is one of the most popular, well-crafted revues of all time and winner of the 1978 Tony Award for Best Musical! The inimitable Thomas “Fats” Waller rose to international fame during the Golden Age of the Cotton Club and that jumpin’ new beat, swing music. Ain’t Misbehavin’ evokes the delightful humor and infectious energy of this American original as a versatile cast struts, strums and sings the songs that he made famous in a career that ranged from uptown clubs to downtown Tin Pan Alley to Hollywood and concert stages in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
