Abuelo’s Menu

Authentic Mexican Dishes

The expansive menu includes authentic dishes like Pork Tenderloin Abrigada, Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Shrimp Fajitas, Avocado Enchiladas, and the Grande Burrito. Even those who are not a fan of spice can find dishes they love due to the menu’s wide variety. Don’t skip the chips and salsa – you will love the three different types of salsa served.

Margaritas & More

The taste of Mexico is also present here in the form of drinks; specifically Margaritas! Specialty cocktails to compliment your genuine Mexican meal include agave or fruit margaritas, mojitos, and frozen sangria.

If you can’t choose just one flavor, try the sangria swirl; a mix of frozen Sangria swirled with La Grandeza Margarita.

Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant

The story of Abuelo’s begins in the summer of 1989, when entrepreneurs James Young, Chuck Anderson and Dirk Rambo opened the first Abuelo’s Mexican restaurant in Amarillo, Texas. Our founders’ goal was simple. To open a restaurant serving delicious, made-from-scratch Mexican food at everyday prices, as well as to create a place where guests of all ages could come together to experience the unique flavors, along with the art and culture of Mexico. What came to life was a truly unique dining experience – authentic tastes of Mexico, with family-style dining in an elevated, yet comfortable setting.
